Team Shockwave began as a two-person team in 2012. Over 13 years, a total of 129 people have completed 280 plunges and raised nearly $100,000. This group of 61 participants raised $15,650 for the Minnesota Special Olympics this year.
On Saturday, Feb. 22, 61 brave souls gathered for a chilling challenge.
Team Shockwave, Federal's annual polar plunge team, made their way onto the ice of Sunrise Lake in Blaine, MN and lined up at the Minnesota Special Olympics' polar bear chute, where they checked the box on what they had collected pledges for: plunging for a purpose.
Team Shockwave worked to raise a team record of more than $15,000 for Minnesota Special Olympics. Not only was this the most the team has raised in a year, but it was also the largest team of daring divers in team history! To top it off, the group was recognized as the largest team at the Anoka County Law Enforcement Polar Plunge.
Congratulations to this team of daring divers!
